I have heard from a few different sources that there is to be an new Triathlon in Washington DC on June 20th 2010. Does anyone know where to get more information about this race? I have tried a few searches on Google, the best I can come up with are a few local clubs that plan on training up to a peak for that race. Also it is the same day as the Assateague Assault race in Maryland.

Just found this: It's very similar to the AG course from last year's ITU World Championship race. Swim start in Potomac Park with a finish on Pennsylvania Ave. It's produced by the folks that do Nation's Tri.

I spoke with a Nations tri employee today and the scoop I got on the new DC triathlon on June 20th is as follows: There will be both a sprint and an olympic distance, the course will be similar to the ITU course from last summer but this event will be held by the Nations people and not ITU (which is not coming back to DC this year). They are working on getting the website for the event launched and registration is set to open February 1st!

I signed up for both Nation's and this DCTRI Olympic - I put down OTTC on my registration form.

I signed up for the sprint distance. Registered for Nations as well. Nations will be my first Oly...eek. Ditto on OTTC on the reg. form.
