It looks like Sunday is going to be a nice day for a ride. Join us for an approximately 40-50 mile roundtrip (depending on how we feel) bike ride down into the Mason Neck area. It will be cool, but doing workouts in groups helps stave off the misery of cold temperatures. It is also a good way to keep those legs moving in the offseason. The ride takes you through Ft. Belvoir to the surprisingly countryesque backroads of the Gunston Hall area and Occoquan. Be prepared for some hills, but not too tough. We will also be taking an easy pace, it is the offseason afterall.
We will meet at Riverside Park just off the GW Parkway at noon. If you are heading south down the GW Parkway, the park is on your left about a mile shy of Mt. Vernon. There is usually plenty of parking. Look for people on bikes waiting in the parking lot.
Since we are riding through Ft. Belvoir, you need a VALID PHOTO ID (e.g., Driver's Liscence) to get in. If you don't bring it, your ride will be really short.
