We're looking for OTTC Tent volunteers. If you're interested please RSVP and indicate you're willing to watch the tent. Thanks
I have confirmed authorization for a club tent in the finish area. I will be there to welcome you all at the end of the race. IMPORTANT! If you want me to hold a bag for you at the tent in the finish area you can drop a bag off at LaMuse this week between the hours of 1-6 PM. Leave your bag with my wife Deb. LaMuse is located at 108 N. Patrick St in Old Town Alexandria. Some things you might want to put in your bag are a change of dry clothes, flip flops, a celabratory drink, etc...

I contacted the DC Tri about the post I made earlier concerning the connection between 66 and Rock Creek pkwy. They showed me a more detailed map of that area and it makes sense. I will try to find a good way to represent their helpful comments on this site for anyone else who was wondering about that part of the course.
This bike course sucks! Grand Prix style my butt. I'm in Wave 19, so there will be thousands of bikes out there trying to make all these hairpin turns - so dangerous.
There are also discrepancies between the posted course and the turn-by-turn directions surrounding the WHouse. The map goes up by OEOB, the other has us merging ont VA AVE.
The wetsuits info distributed also refers to water temps in Sept. Apparently they just recycled the literature from Nation's without proofreading it.
Didn't mean to sound like Debbie-Downer in my last post, but when I signed-up, I thought we were riding the Nation's Course - a much better tri-course. Thanks! to Darryel and his wife for offering to support the OTTC team. Finish miles from my bike will be easier thanks to their kind offer and support.
Look...just bike fast until they tell you to turn!!
No worries, just like most races, I never "really" know the route!
Cheers, I look forward to seeing everyone at the finish!!!
I'm slow on the bike anyways:)- I'm wave 10 in the sprint so hopefully the fast sprinters will be ahead of me and I'll stay ahead of most of the oly's before too many can lap me!
I just can't afford to lose any more teeth due to bike crashes or my dental insurance will drop me. I'm sure it will be fine.Besides, I'm a girl! I'm not ashamed to stop and ask for directions ;)
Cool, I didn't know you wore dentures...good to know!! Just take them out for the race! :)
Directions...I would never ask for directions.....(point taken!)
Is it light at 5:30am? I haven't been up that early for awhile!
Should be an exciting race; no idea where we're biking, up in the middle of the night and a pre dawn swim. OK it is light at 530, but barely. Maybe that's so we can't see what's in the water with us. I'm in wave 10 for the sprint as well. Can't wait to see everyone!
Good Luck everyone!! I wish I was able to be there to cheer all of you on.
Thanks to the volunteers! It was my first tri of any kind and although I'm tired from my 0330 wake up it was a great time. I hope Nations is a little cooler:)
Great race!! I agree Heather, the early wake up (230 for me) was a bummer, but glad it was done so early. The heat would have been much worse. Thanks for manning the tent Kimber, it was great to have a place to hook up with everyone after.
Great race wish it could have been a few degrees cooler...Mile 5 of the run I said, I'll never do this again and at the finish line I was like "Can't wait for the next one". The Tri 101 helped me prepare...I had a "crew" with me so I didn't stop by the tent...Anyone registered for the Northeast Tri on August 15th?
The DC Tri on June 20th is about 96% sold out so if you're on the fence hurry and sign up!
