1 hour interval run. I'll have a warm up/interval set/cool down workout. We'll warm up and cool down on the Mt. Vernon trail. Intervals will be on a wide, flat section of road.
Meet in the first parking lot at Belle Haven park (the same place we meet for the Tuesday hill rides).

All paces welcomed! I'm just getting back into running, too and am moving slow. We'll run together for the warm up & cool down, then do the intervals on the wide, flat boulevard just after the WW bridge underpass and loop around there so we will all be in sight of each other but can hit our own paces.

Bummer - I woke up early to meet you guys for this Interval Run and the yahoo maps directions were wrong!! I was lost lost lost trying to get to Belle Haven :-( I had to run on my own....
Any tips so this doesn't happen next time? I'm coming from Landmark Mall Duke St area of Alexandria. I think I've seen the parking area before while on the bike on Mt. Vernon trail.

Amy, you've definitely gone by the lots if you've been on the Mt Vernon trail; there are bathrooms & water fountain there. Google is good; I haven't lived here long enough to suggest a route. There are brown signs indicating Belle Haven; left into the lot & left again will put you in the 1st lot where we met- don't stress!
Amy, bummer's right! The next one will be starting at Wheel Nuts Bike Shop, but we meet at Belle Haven Marina for other workouts so it would be good to find the location. From Duke, turn right on the GW Parkway (heading south). Once clear of Old Town, get in the left lane, watch for signs for park - brown like Bob says - and follow his directions. Let me know if you have trouble finding it.
I'm just getting back into running and biking (9 min/miles) - is this interval run tomorrow morning only for intermed/advanced folks? thanks
